Jarosław Królewski, owner of Wisła Kraków, criticized the model of functioning of Wisła Płock and other Ekstraklasa clubs. In his post on the X platform, he accused them of having a financial advantage that does not always go hand in hand with building a lasting sporting value. - Let's be honest – which professional player, having a choice of even 50,000 euros more per year, would want to play in Płock, Lubin or Wrocław? In clubs whose existence often boils down to draining the resources of the inhabitants of these cities, instead of building a real sporting, business or social value. It's hard to expect that with just money, you can win ambition, prestige and a vision of development. - This is a cancer of Polish football. A short-term attractive success, like any prostitution. A long-term intellectual pathology - he added. Królewski's words quickly sparked a discussion in social media. Some fans agree with his assessment of the functioning model of some clubs, while others point out the exceptionally harsh tone of his statement. Let's recall that Wisła Kraków returned to Ekstraklasa after four seasons spent in its lower league. Śląsk Wrocław also returned to the elite. In the last season, Wisła Płock finished eighth, while Zagłębie Lubin placed one position higher.
